A Brief History of Potter Marketing

Jack Potter launched his agency in Costa Mesa, California in 1971. Starting with $500 in the bank, his wife 8 months pregnant with their first child, Jack quit his "safe job" as an Art Director at a well known advertising agency and launched out on his own. Sheer "guts" comes to mind. Foolish perhaps. Not the best time maybe but he doubled his income in the next month, quadrupled it in the next month and he hasn't looked back since.

Beginning as a "design boutique" named Bright & Shiny Design, he worked for small, medium and major advertising agencies. Jack quickly grew his firm, based upon client demand, to a full- service marketing agency in its own right. Renamed in the 1980s to J. Brooks Potter Marketing, and shortened in 2006 to Potter Marketing, it has won over 30 national and local awards for creativity and excellence along the way.

Potter Marketing has worked with and successfully raised revenues for more than 200 companies ranging from high tech electronics, software, engineering, manufacturing, testing, business to business, business to consumer and in the professional service sectors.
